Dementia care is specialist residential care designed for people living with dementia. It goes beyond standard nursing care to provide a safe, structured and stimulating environment — with a focus on maintaining dignity, independence and quality of life for as long as possible.

Our dedicated dementia unit on the top floor is designed for residents living with more advanced dementia. Please get in touch to discuss your loved one's specific needs and we can advise whether Broxburn is the right fit.

Our top floor provides a safe, secure and thoughtfully designed environment. With input from world-renowned dementia expert Professor June Andrews, the space is fully dementia-friendly — from layout and lighting to colour contrast and wayfinding.

Every resident with dementia has their own care plan, developed with their family and reviewed regularly. We take the time to understand each person's history, preferences and personality so that the care we provide feels personal and familiar — not clinical.

Our team is specially trained in dementia care, and we have a dedicated dementia specialist among our senior staff. Training covers understanding dementia, communication techniques, person-centred care and how to support both residents and their families.

Activities for residents with dementia are carefully tailored to their abilities and interests. We focus on meaningful, familiar activities that promote engagement and wellbeing — from gentle exercise and music to reminiscence activities and visits from Oakley, our Trainee Resident Relations Officer.

Our fees start from £1,695 per week for self-funding residents. We also accept Local Authority placements, including those with top-up arrangements. Please contact us or visit our Costs & Fees page for more information.
