Respite Care
A wonderful
stepping stone.
We offer respite stays at Broxburn Care Home, usually a minimum of two weeks, depending on availability.
Whether it's to give a carer a well-earned break or to gently introduce someone to life at Broxburn, respite care can be a wonderful stepping stone.
What is respite care?
Respite care is a short-term stay in a care home, designed to give family carers a temporary break while ensuring their loved one receives professional care in a safe and welcoming environment.
Caring for a loved one is one of the most rewarding things a person can do — but it can also be exhausting. Respite care gives carers the opportunity to rest, recharge and attend to their own health and wellbeing, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is being looked after with the same warmth and dedication they would provide themselves.
At Broxburn Care Home in West Lothian, a respite stay also offers something else — a gentle, no-pressure way to experience life here before making any longer-term decisions. Many families find it an invaluable first step.
Respite care may be right if:
- A family carer needs a well-earned break
- Your loved one is recovering after a hospital stay
- You want to gently explore care home life
- You need temporary care while arrangements are made
- You'd like to try Broxburn before a permanent move
Please get in touch to discuss availability — we'll do our best to accommodate you at a time that works for your family.
